Pyare Jio - by Bhai Vir Singh Ji

The book Pyare Jio by Bhai Vir Singh Ji is a collection of 84 letters written to people concerning the trials and tribulations of daily life. The letters teach how a Gursikh should lead his life and inspire the reader to strengthen his faith in Waheguru. This is a great collection that every Sikh should hear.

The letters are categorised into four topics:
CHAPTER ONE - PRABU PRAPTI (Reaching God)
CHAPTER TWO - MAUT BARE (About Death)
CHAPTER THREE - PHUTKAL (Miscellaneous)
CHAPTER FOUR - PATIT UBHAAR (Saving the Fallen)

नामु तेरा दीवा नामु तेरो बाती नामु तेरो तेलु ले माहि पसारे ॥
Your Name is the lamp, and Your Name is the wick. Your Name is the oil I pour into it.

ਨਾਮ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਲਗਾਈ ਭਇਓ ਉਜਿਆਰੋ ਭਵਨ ਸਗਲਾਰੇ ॥੨॥
नाम तेरे की जोति लगाई भइओ उजिआरो भवन सगलारे ॥२॥
Your Name is the light applied to this lamp, which enlightens and illuminates the entire world. ||2||
