The minorities' community students (Sikhs, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists,Parsis etc...) throughout India are entitled to handsome scholarships by theGovernment of India. But due to lack of awareness about these very few students avail them and most of the scholarships go waste. For availing these opportunities for minority scholarships, the procedure isvery simple.
Three types of scholarship schemes are available:
1.Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme: Under this scheme Scholarships will be awarded to eligible students of class 1 to 10 in government/recognized private schools/institutes. The financial assistance includes admission / tution fees and maintenance allowances.
Eligibility criteria: Students who have scored not less than 50% marks in the previous final examination, and whose parents'/ guardian's annual income does not exceed Rs. 1 lakh, are eligible for the scholarship. 50% marks requirement will not apply to class 1 students.

2.Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme: Scholarship will be awarded to eligible students of class 11 upto Ph.D. in government/ recognized private schools/ colleges/ universities/ institutes including technical and vocational courses of ITIs / ITCs (affiliated with NCVT) of class 11 and 12 level and the courses other than those covered under merit-cum-means scholarship scheme. The financial assistance includes admission / tution fees and maintenance allowances.
Eligibility criteria: Students who have scored not less than 50% marks in the previous final examination, and whose parents'/ guardian's annual income does not exceed Rs. 2 lakh, are eligible for the scholarship.

3. Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme: 20,000 new scholarships will be awarded to eligible students studying in technical/ professional courses at under graduate and post-graduate levels. The financial assistance includes reinbursement of course fees and maintenance allowances. Full course fee is reimbursed for 70 listed institutes in the scheme. Course fee upto a maximum of Rs.20,000/- is reimbursed for the other institutes.
Eligibility criteria: The annual income of parents or guardian of the student should not exceed Rs.2.50 lakh from all sources.

NOTE:
Those who were awarded the scholarship for 2008-2009 and fulfill the conditions of the scheme may apply for renewal of scholarship for 2009-2010.
